Sheffield United keeping tabs on Rotherham United midfielder

According to the Daily Mail, Championship promotion chasers Sheffield United are keeping an eye on Rotherham United midfielder Will Vaulks.

Rotherham United midfielder Will Vaulks has been impressive for Paul Warne throughout this Championship season, and his performances have been catching the eyes of potential suitors. Fellow Championship side Sheffield United are believed to be interested in a possible summer move for the English midfielder.

The Daily Mail also writes that Premier League outfit Cardiff City are keen on the midfielder, along with an unnamed Italian Serie A side. The trio were reportedly in attendance at Rotherham’s 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic on Saturday afternoon.

Vaulks has been a mainstay in the Rotherham United side since he joined from Scottish side Falkirk in the summer of 2016. He made 40 league appearances in his first campaign for The Millers, before playing in all but two games as Paul Warne’s side won promotion back to the second tier in the 2017/18 season.

His strong form in the Rotherham midfield in the Millers’ promotion campaign has been carried over into the current Championship season. The 25-year-old has played 28 times in the Championship so far this season, scoring five goals and providing three assists along the way.

With Rotherham sitting just one point ahead of 22nd placed Reading, manager Paul Warne will be hoping that Vaulks can continue to put in strong performances as they battle to maintain their Championship status. If not, Vaulks could be tempted by a possible move away from the New York Stadium.
