Portsmouth winger hints at stay amidst Leeds and Middlesbrough links

Portsmouth winger Jamal Lowe has been generating interest from the higher divisions, with Leeds United, Middlesbrough, Wigan and West Brom all linked.

Portsmouth missed out on the Play Off Final last week at the hands of Sunderland, losing 1-0 on aggregate to the Black Cats over the two legs. One of the stand out stars of Pompey’s season has been winger Jamal Lowe, and he has pledged to try and go one better with his current club next season.

Speaking to The News, the 24-year old said, “We’ve got a big squad so I’m not going to blame it on that. It could be a factor because it’s only science that if you play 20 more games than some sides they may have an advantage.

“But we’re not going to put it down to that. We just have to go again.”

Lowe has been linked to several Championship clubs, and with Portsmouth reportedly setting an asking price of £2 million, the winger may be subject to plenty of bids this transfer window.

The League One side will be hoping to keep hold of one of their most prized assets, and Lowe feels he has more to give.

‘But I do honestly think I could’ve done more, but that’s just how I am.

‘I felt I could’ve done more last season and I felt the same this season.”

Leeds, Middlesbrough, West Brom, Cardiff and Wigan are all reportedly interested in bringing the wide midfielder to their respective clubs, but they may have to turn their attention to other targets.
