Leeds United star set for permanent move to Spain

Leeds United star Samuel Saiz is set for a permanent move to Spain according to Football Insider.

The Whites have placed a £6million price tag on the playmaker but no club have so far met their valuation for the player.

However it is believed that Leeds are now in talks with various Spanish clubs regarding the permanent transfer of Saiz who has been attempting to sanction a move back to his hometown country.

Saiz joined Leeds for £3million but he is now set for a move away from the Championship side. It is no secret that the 28-year-old was unhappy last season and manager Marco Bielsa was willing to move him on half way through the campaign to prevent unrest within the squad.

The Spaniard is now looking to cut ties with the Yorkshire based club and Valencia and Getafe are both interested in obtaining his services. Saiz spent the second half of last season on loan at Getafe but Leeds have made it clear to both clubs that they wish to sell the midfielder and not simply send him out on loan.

He didn’t make much of an impact in his loan spell with Getafe however he still has a strong reputation in his native Spain and would certainly be a quality addition to La Liga.

Saiz has two years remaining on his contract with Leeds. He has made 58 appearances for the club and scored 10 goals and created 12 assists and he was a fans favourite due to his skills and technical ability.

Leeds are currently trying to rebuild their squad as they look to make another push for promotion and it is clear that Saiz isn’t a part of their long term plans so a transfer would be the best option for both the club and the player.
